Riverina Water County Council wishes to advise customers of changes to its debt recovery practices from 1st July 2014 for unpaid, overdue water accounts. Council has determined to introduce the use of flow restriction devices, in conjunction with the current practice of disconnecting water supply.
Under the provisions of the Local Government Act 1993 Council is required to review and adopt its Policy for the Payment of Expenses and Provision of Facilities to Councillors each year. Section 253 of the Act also requires that public notice of the proposed adoption of the policy be given.
The Independent Local Government Review Panel was appointed by the NSW Government in April 2012, following an approach by the then Local Government and Shires Associations (now combined as 'Local Government NSW'). Its task has been to formulate options for governance models, structures and boundary changes.
Following an extensive expression of interest and selective tender process, Riverina Water County Council (RWCC) has accepted a tender from UGL Engineering Pty Ltd for the Design, Development, Construction and commissioning of a 55 Megalitre per day Wagga Wagga Water Treatment Plant for an amount of $35,485,667 incl. GST.
