Glenoak 2 Reservoir construction timelapse

Months of construction in the blink of an eye.

Riverina Water officially opened the Glenoak 2 Reservoir in December 2019.

The 10m tall and 25m wide Glenoak Reservoir 2 can hold 4.5 megalitres – almost two Olympic-size swimming pools – and dwarfs the existing 1.3 megalitre Glenoak Reservoir 1.

Construction took place over the previous six months and the new infrastructure mainly services the Lloyd and Glenoak suburbs, which are experiencing ongoing development.

Water is pumped to the reservoir from Riverina Water’s Hammond Avenue treatment plant, where it is stored and gravity fed to the many properties below.

Glenoak Reservoir 2 by the numbers:

  • Six months to construct
  • 400 cubic metres of concrete
  • 100 tonnes of steel
  • 10 metres tall, 25 metres wide
  • 5 megalitre capacity
  • Complements the existing Glenoak Reserviour 1 to hold a combined 5.8 megalitres
